Years ago I went through a heartbreak that totally shattered my heart in thousand pieces! one day I stumbled over a description of a South Asian Goddess Akhilandeshwari who is known as ‘She Who Is Never Not Broken’.It may seem strange to think of Goddess as broken, but in Shakta Tantra the microcosm is the macrocosm and Akhilandeshwari is broken because we, and the world, are broken. She can help us move through the very challenging difficulties in life. She helps us to find the light of our essence through the cracks from the chaos. I found deep resonance in "The never not broken Goddess" and for my inner eye I saw a vision of a Goddess cracking open and in her hands she hold the yin and yang that was separated. Then I saw flowing golden light pouring in to the cracks, mending them like the japanese Kintsugi - the art of repairing ceramics with gold lacquer and beautifying the cracks and making a new piece of art out of it. 


When I painted the Never not broken Goddess, this poem came to me.


“I met her in the deepest dark

shattered of sorrow and broken of pain

Suddenly my heart cracked open 

to receive the light again

She whispered

sweet child come here and rest

together we will go out on a deep quest

Finding all the pieces and bits of a soul

once so tender, bright and bold

I, The Never Not Broken Goddess

will mend your wounds with light and gold

and at last you will become truly whole.”
